Pictures are worth a thousand words.
These words convey one clear and simple thought- pictures tell the meaning of an idea more quickly and effectively than the written word.
Like I always say, children are visual beings. They love colors. Have you ever wondered why a baby would always go for colorful books instead of plain exercise books? Yes, even from birth, colors appeal to them.
The COVID 19 pandemic forced so many educators to suddenly learn how to make videos to use in their online teaching. In the past one month, I have been privileged to teach about 100 teachers how to create videos for their classes. Some other teachers have done the same.
There is a difference between creating slides and creating appealing/attractive slides. Turn out quality slides(videos).
Dear teacher, you don't need many words to get your points across to the students. Pictures clearly demonstrate an idea/ideas with one look, quicker than a lot of texts can..
Remember the visual students as you prepare your lessons. Use images to convey your thoughts.
This will make your slides short and straight to the point.
Remember, it's not your usual classroom teaching and shouldn't be longer than fifteen minutes. In seven to fifteen minutes, you should have been able to pass the message.
When your slides are too wordy, your students loose interest. My girls will tell you that the video is boring. You don't want that happening with your students.
DEAR TRAINER, please teach these teachers the ELEMENTS OF EFFECTIVE DESIGN when you start your trainings.
Make corrections as they work, follow up on them and ensure that they turn out nice work. It's says we'll of you.
Please, my fellow educators, remember the words of Nelson Mandela- "History will judge us by the difference we make in the everyday lives of children."
Your videos will make a difference in the lives of your students. It's up to you to decide what kind of difference it will be.
POSITIVE? or NEGATIVE?
