DELIVERY AND PRESENTATION

"A well prepared and engaging teacher is a catalyst.....the spark that creates the desire to learn in our students." - Robert John Meehan

A successful lesson delivery and presentation is  a product of PREPAREDNESS.
As seen in previous series, the creation of interesting lessons take time and effort. All of these effort will go to waste if the lesson is not interesting.

Bear in mind that your students are currently not in the same physical space with you and so you won't have the opportunity to call on every child who isn't paying attention to you. Your delivery must then be such that they wouldn't become bored and  loose interest in your lesson.

WHAT TO DO?
1. Before recording, practice. It is said that PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT. Present your lesson in front of a mirror and take note of your facial expressions, you'll surely find areas for improvement.

OR

2. Record yourself and play it back. When you think you have gotten it right, go ahead and record your video.

Avoid telling yourself that they are students who already know you and so there's no need for the "trouble". Your video say a lot about the teacher you are.

3. Always record your videos when you are in a cheerful mood. A friendly and pleasant disposition is contagious. Your students will draw from the emotions they see in your video. They are able to discern when we are happy or unhappy.

4. Clearly state what they would learn from the video. Whet their appetite for what is to come.

5. Don't rush through your slides. Build the points gradually until the end.

6. If you must show your face in the video, ensure you look good, presentable. Make yourself up, dress up nicely. Don't say you are at home therefore anything is acceptable.

7. Sit where there is proper lighting so your face isn't dark in the video. Look directly into the camera. Avoid reading your slides. Own the slides and teach like a pro.

8. Speak loudly. Don't record in a noisy environment.

Above all, your delivery must be animated. Be lively in your presentation. Sing and clap for them if necessary. Give commendations too.

They know when you prepared and when you are not.
To achieve success, BE PREPARED.
