SCREEN RECORDING
Click record and your video is ready. Yes, it is that easy. You don't have to be a professional to record good videos.
Today, we'll look at some screen recording tools.
For computers, you have
Screencastomatic
Du recorder
Ispring free screen recorder
Screencastify(if you use Chrome), etc
For phones, you have
Xrecorder
AZ recorder
HD screen recorder and so many others.
TIPS FOR SCREEN RECORDING
1. Place your device in airplane mode to avoid receiving notification reminders that will distract you.
2. Use your pause button. If you feel overwhelmed and don't know how to proceed, pause the recorder, gather your thoughts together and continue.
3. Make use of the laser pointer.
The laser pointer allows you to point at important information as you record.
4. Use your pen and highlighter button. These features allow you to record interactive videos. You can underline or highlight salient points in the slides as you record.
Early years teachers can insert a blank slide in their presentation and use this feature to teach how to write letters and numbers.
You can also solve math problems using the blank slide and the pen feature.
5. Timing
Do not spend so much time on a slide. Mention only the necessary points. Your video should not exceed 15 minutes. For early years, make it short and simple. They'll not have the patience to sit for such a long time.
6. Editing
Watch your video when you are done recording and check for areas that need editing. You do not need to start recording everything all over again. You can record just the area that needs change and use a video editing application to cut or trim and join together.
Try using INSHOT video editor.
7. Compressing
When you are done, publish and save your video. Download a compressor and compress the video to at least 30mb before sharing with your class.
You can download Handbrake in your laptop or Video Panda for your phone. There are many more but these are the ones I've tested.
